Setting:

In modern day time, three kids have discovered a weird machine in their backyard. They press some buttons and soon find themselves on another planet with an entirely different society than their own. They must find a way to get back to Earth alive!

Subject: Intro

"Justin!" exclaims Kelly, "Anthony!" she shout in exasperation, "Put down the video games and let's DO something."

"O.K., O.K., calm down," replies Justin, "As soon I finish this level...."

"Duuuuude....you are so toast," Anthony taunts as he wraps up his victory and drops the controller, "So what are we doing?"

"Well, maybe we could actually do something in the REAL world instead of pretending to live our lives in a video game. It's sooooo hot out, we could go swimming again?" Kelly beckons, "An epic round of Marco Polo?"

"That sounds legit," Justin replies. They still had their swimsuits on from their swim before lunch. The pool was certainly the main attraction at Kelly's house in the summer. They headed out the back door and grabbed their towels that were drying on the patio chairs. Justin froze as he looked up and discovered the oddity across the pool on the grass. The other two stopped in their tracks studying Justin and then following his line of sight. The three stared in silence....

Subject: After Intro--In Other World

Anthony took charge.
"As the oldest, you guys could just listen to me. Please."
"Ok. You're the oldest by three monthe. Don't push it.," Kelly said.
"I don't care who leads, as long as we find out where the heck we are!" Justin yelled.
Anthony looked around.
The landscape looked normal. Rolling green hills, a brook to their left, and an oak forest beyond that.
But to their right, they saw civilization.
The three friends walked towards the village.
The buildings were mad of stone, with thatched roofs. It looked like something out of their history books.
"Do you think we went back in time? Like 500 years?" Kelly asked.
Then they saw the people.
They appeared normal at first glance, until the friends got closer. The villagers seemed to be a mix of half-human creatures. Some had long tufted tails, others had wings, bird-like or bat-like. A lot had pointed ears, and some that smiled at the children had fangs or overly-large canines.
Justin screamed.
